My heart failure and malignant arrhythmia research results

Recently, the reporter was informed at Harbin Medical University that the national 973 project "Basic research on prevention and treatment of heart failure and malignant arrhythmia" has been repeated. Chinese scientists have successfully explored the molecular genetics of heart failure and malignant arrhythmia in Chinese patients. Mechanisms, screening for susceptible genes, disease-causing genes and their biomarkers; application of animal models revealed the mystery of heart failure, malignant arrhythmia and heart failure leading to sudden death, and found new targets for prevention. The subject also discovered a new gene for fatal arrhythmia and revealed a new mechanism for micronucleotides to regulate heart failure and sudden cardiac death.
The number of people who die of cardiovascular disease in China is nearly 3 million each year. Among them, about 600,000 cases of sudden cardiac death each year, 50% of patients with heart failure die of malignant arrhythmia. The topic of the project is to aim at the frontier areas of heart failure and arrhythmia research, to grasp the "bottleneck" problem that currently restricts the level of heart disease treatment in China, and to focus on the national superior forces to carry out joint research.
The chief scientist of the project was led by Professor Yang Baofeng, a famous Chinese pharmacologist and president of Harbin Medical University. It was implemented two years ago. In the joint research, Professor Wang Qing first discovered a new pathogenic mutation that induces atrial fibrillation and sudden death. Yang Baofeng first revealed the mechanism of micronucleotides regulating heart failure and sudden cardiac death, confirming micronuclei The intrinsic relationship between -1 and micronucleotide-133 and myocardial damage; Professor Li Peifeng took the lead in finding a new signal transduction pathway for cardiac hypertrophy and apoptosis. These results have been published in authoritative journals such as Cell, Circulation and Biochemistry. In the past two years, the researchers of the 8 research groups of the project have published 71 papers in SCI published in authoritative magazines, with a total impact factor of 271 and an average impact factor close to 4.
