The main points of fertilizer application technology

The demand for fertilizers by leeks is dominated by nitrogen fertilizers, with appropriate amounts of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. Only nitrogen fertilizers have enough leaves to be hypertrophied and tender, and the nitrogen uptake is higher compared to other vegetables, but excessive nitrogen can cause lodging of leeks. The application of potash fertilizer can promote cell division and enlargement, accelerate the synthesis and operation of sugar; applying sufficient amount of phosphate fertilizer can promote the absorption of nitrogen fertilizer by plants and improve product quality. In addition, the application of organic fertilizer can improve soil, improve soil permeability, promote root growth, and improve quality.

First, base fertilizer

First of all, seedlings are raised in seedbeds or in seedlings. Young leeks have a small amount of growth and consume less fertilizer during the seedling stage. However, because the seedlings are relatively weak, the roots are undeveloped, and the fertility is weak, in addition to applying the base fertilizer, fast-acting fertilizers should be applied in stages to promote growth. The seedlings grow robustly. After planting into the cool autumn season, the growth rate of leeks is accelerated and the growth volume is increased. The top dressing should be promptly promoted to promote the production and accumulation of nutrients. The leeks planted that year were generally not harvested that year.

When the leek seedlings grow to 18 to 20 cm in height, they are planted. Before planting, 5000 kilograms of organic manure was applied to the planting site, using applicator, ploughing into the soil, and then cultivating the planting or planting the planting ditch after leveling. The sorghum (ditch) was then applied with 2000 kg of high-quality organic fertilizer. Mu, fertilizer and soil can be planted after mixing.

The second year of sowing has grown robust, mature, and began harvesting and marketing. The principle of fertilization in this period is to supplement the nutrients removed by harvesting in time, so that the leek grows quickly and maintains a strong growth momentum, preventing the premature decline of the plants due to the loss of nutrients caused by harvesting.

Second, top dressing

Usually in the leek seedling height 12 ~ 15 cm combined with water to recover secondary fertilizer, ammonium sulfate 20 kg / mu.

The leeks after planting entered the cool autumn after a hot summer. This is the most suitable growth stage of leeks, and it is the key period for the management of fertilizer and water. Applying fertilizer timely and promoting the growth of leaves will lay the material foundation for the rhizome enlargement and root growth of leeks. The overwintering ability of leeks and the growth in the coming year mainly depend on the amount of nutrients accumulated before the winter, and the accumulation of nutrients depends on the growth conditions in autumn. Therefore, the fertilizer and water management at this stage should be well managed. Generally chase 2 to 3 times fat. In the north, chase fertilizers were applied once in the early and late September and ammonium sulfate was 15-20 kg/mu, which was applied with water. In the beginning of October, chase again 1 ammonium sulfate (using the same amount as above) or topdressing once.

Composting method: 2 to 3 days after the harvest, the new leaves grow 2 to 3 centimeters high when combined with water to chase ammonium sulfate 15 to 20 kg/mu. Do not water and fertilize immediately after harvesting. This can easily cause root rot.

Leeks are generally harvested in spring and autumn, and they do not harvest leeks in summer. In summer, leeks are not resistant to high temperature, and high temperature and more rain reduce the photosynthesis, increase the respiratory intensity, and weaken the growth potential, showing the phenomenon of “resting”. In this period, the management of leeks is mainly “raising seedlings”. Appropriate topdressing during seedling raising to enhance the resistance to leeks, making it safer over the summer. The amount of topdressing fertilizer should be 15 to 20 kg/mu of ammonium sulfate. Fertilization can be carried out during the rainy season and no watering is required.

III. Grass ash

The vegetable grower can increase the amount of plant ash in the growth period of the leeks. Plant ash is a good water-soluble potash, which is conducive to rooting and tillering of leeks and has obvious effect on increasing yield. The disease incidence in the greenhouse is mainly caused by gray mold. The application of plant ash can reduce the incidence of gray mold. The large amount of water in the plant ash can rapidly reduce the soil moisture content, reduce the air humidity in the shed, and control the spread of germs. At the same time, it has a preventive and therapeutic effect on the root of leeks.

Organic Beetroot Powder

Organic beetroot powder is made from organic beets that are dehydrated and then ground into a powder. Retaining all the protective nutrients of ripe beets, this powder is naturally rich in vitamins, minerals, and nitrate. The American Heart Association reports on a preliminary study, where a test group of people with high blood pressure consumed beetroot juice each day had a decrease in their blood pressure for the next 24 hours. With the highest sugar content of all the vegetables, organic beetroot powder is becoming increasingly popular as a sweetening substitute. Beet powder/juice powder is used to flavor carrot, celery, and other vegetable juices, while also being used to add color to a variety of foods and beverages. Commercially they`re also added to salad dressings, spaghetti sauces, and tomato products (juices and sauces).
