The advantages and disadvantages of pig breeding technology

Pig-raising in the fermentation bed is a new pig raising technology imported from Japan, South Korea and other countries in recent years. It is also called the “natural pig raising law” or the “biological ring maintenance pig law”. It uses organic litter to build a fermentation bed. With the addition of microorganisms, feces excreted by pigs are buried in litter, and moisture is evaporated by the heat generated during the fermentation process. Pig manure is fully decomposed and transformed after fermentation by microbial bacteria. Many of the benefits of pig breeding on a fermentation bed have been widely publicized by commercial organizations, but there are also some shortcomings in practice. Fermenting Bed Pig Benefits

Reduce pollution to the environment. There is no need to use sweeping emissions for pig manure, nor does it generate large amounts of flushing water, so that no waste or excrement is expelled from pig farms. Basically, the “zero discharge” standard for pollutants is achieved, which greatly reduces the pig industry. Pollution of the environment.

Save money on drugs. After the pigs have eaten the microbial bacteria, they can help digestion and still improve the resistance of the pigs to a certain extent. Moreover, the pigs in the fermentation bed can reduce the use of drugs, and at the same time, reduce the problem of drug residues in pork.

Energy saving. Routine pig-raising requires a lot of water to flush pig manure, but this method only needs to provide pigs with drinking water, which can save 80% to 90% of the water; the fermentation bed generates heat, and pighouses need no coal consumption in winter. Electric heating saves energy expenses.

Save on feed. The principle is that the feces provide rich nutrition to the bacteria, promotes the proliferation of beneficial bacteria, and forms bacterial proteins. The pigs only supplement the nutrients in the filling material of the arch bottom ring and thus can relatively save the feed to a certain extent. .

Turning waste into treasure. A year and a half after the use of litter, bio-organic fertilizer can be directly used for fruit trees and crops to achieve the purpose of recycling and turning waste into treasure. Disadvantages of fermenting pigs

Chemical disinfectants and antibiotics should not be used. If used, it will kill and inhibit the microorganisms (so-called probiotics), or inhibit their reproduction, so that the activity of the microorganisms will be reduced. Although the pig bed disease in the fermentation bed is lower than the traditional one, it will not happen. When pig farms and pigs develop respiratory diseases, pig farmers face a dilemma. Without drugs, pigs grow slowly, and survival rates, growth rates, and feed rewards all decrease. In addition, the so-called probiotics are not likely to inhibit the virus, when the pig farm occurs blue-ear disease, circovirus and other common viral diseases, or foot-and-mouth disease, swine fever and other infectious diseases, even chemical disinfectants can not be used, simply Reliance on isolation to treat the disease is impossible to control, once the disease will suffer heavy losses.

High construction costs. The pig house covers an area of 100 square meters and can only support 50 to 70 pigs (each pig covers an area of 1.5 square meters). Currently, 100 square meters of large-scale pig farms can feed 100 pigs, so we need a Big cost to transform.

Pig raising costs may not necessarily decrease. Some promoters of swine bed pigs emphasize that one-time spraying of the broth can maintain bacterial growth for a long time. It should be noted that the growth of bacteria species is directly related to the composition and temperature and humidity of the litter. The relatively rough litter composition presently presented cannot provide suitable conditions for the growth of strains. It needs to be sprayed regularly, but the cost of bacterial fluids is very high, because of the relatively high concentration requirements, it is bound to increase cost.

Easy to reduce the pig's resistance. The fermentation bed absorbs the pig's excrement by powdery substances such as sawdust and rice bran, and pigs have a habit of arching. Powders such as sawdust and rice bran can enter the respiratory tract due to the pig arch food, causing respiratory diseases. After fermentation, there is a large amount of mycotoxins in the litter. After the pig only eats the mycotoxin, it often causes its immunosuppression, the resistance is reduced, and the feed reward does not rise and fall.

The excessive temperature in the summer pighouse affects the growth and development of pigs. Many pig farms are air-conditioned and the temperature inside the pighouse is too high for fermentation. Summer is not conducive to the healthy growth of pigs. Especially in the southern regions of China, the temperature is already high. Although the surface temperature is not high, the temperature of the environment where the pig is located rises due to fermentation. The growth rate of the pigs is slow, and feed returns have decreased.

Bed humidity is controlled at about 60%. Low humidity is not conducive to microbial reproduction, and will lead to respiratory diseases in pigs, and the excessively high humidity in pigs is a serious hazard. When pigs feed on hyphae, they bring the eggs back into the body and cause the disease, and the skin is seriously damaged. .

The amount of labor does not necessarily decrease. In pigs fed on the fermentation bed, it is more inconvenient to feed the herds and the feeding is also more troublesome. If there is no more advanced feeding equipment, the amount of labor of the breeder may not be reduced.

How to adapt the strains to different climatic conditions. Because the pig house is semi-open, it is also a problem that needs to be solved if the strain can exert high efficiency under different climatic conditions due to the influence of environmental changes in the outside world.

According to the current situation in China, large-scale implementation of pigs in fermentation beds is still worth exploring. Objectively speaking, pig-breeding in the current fermentation bed is more suitable for pig farmers (farms) in smaller areas in northern China.
