New method for producing male Oni fish on a large scale

Tilapia breeding has now ranked second in the world's freshwater aquaculture industry. Since the growth of male and female individuals of tilapia is very different, farmers can obtain a single, fast-growing fish by artificially controlling the sex of the fish to speed up the growth of commercial fish, increase fish production, and increase economic efficiency. Work has been done in China for nearly 20 years. Domestic methods for producing monoculture fish: In the south, male male Olea tilapia and purebred female Nile tilapia are used to produce the male Oxyauri; in the north, sex hormones are used to induce Nileuofei. Fish, transform it into a single sex fish. The former has introduced several batches of Nile tilapia from different strains in the country. Only a few units have relatively pure Nile tilapia, and due to human factors and other factors, the tilapia in most Mixed, so that the males produced by Onyx hybrid fish are not stable. The latter is not suitable because it is induced by artificial stimuli and changes the physiological traits of Nile tilapia more or less affect human living environment and body.
In view of the deficiencies of the domestic male tilapia technology, we have explored a new method that can increase the male rate without affecting the living environment and physical health of human beings. Insulin reversal individuals produce large-scale production of Onyx hybrid fish as broodstock. As early as the late 1970s, Changjiang Institute and other units have successfully tested this method, but there has been no report on large-scale production in China. We cooperated with Guangdong Maoming Maonan Sangao High Breeding Breeding Base to use this technique to produce large-scale production of Onyx fry about 1cm. Through the results of the blood tests in 1996 and 1997, the male rate can be as high as 98%.
We used the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center of the Academy of Aquaculture at the San Mao High Breeding Breeding Base in Maoming, Guangdong Province. We hereafter refer to the “Center” test site. The U.S. strain purebred Nile tilapia (0.9-1.1 cm) provided by Wuxi was administered orally with estradiol benzoate. For 20-30 days of continuous feeding, the dosage of about 10,000 fry is about 2g, and the female conversion rate of Nile tilapia is about 95%. After 3-4 months of feeding, the broodstock can be bred for breeding. The males of the selective-transformed females and the purebred male Oreochromis auratus hybrids have a male rate of more than 98%. In addition, we also used the same method to conduct large-scale production of Onyx hybrid fish at the same time in Guangdong Maoming Maonan Sangao High Breeding Breeding Base, Guangdong Panyu Aquatic Technology Promotion Station, and Zhanjiang River Forces Fish Farm. -95%, 92%-95%, 94%-95%. We used methyltestosterone to induce purebred Olivia tilapia. After three to four months of breeding, the males that were clearly transformed and the purebred American strain Nile tilapia were crossed to produce Otonis. The male rate of the first generation is reduced by about 20%. Using this method to pay attention to the purity of the parent of Nile tilapia and Oriya tilapia can ensure the higher male rate.
