The Ministry of Health recently stated that this year we must comprehensively promote the protection of 8 types of major diseases such as uremia, and include 12 major diseases such as lung cancer in the protection and rescue pilots in about 1/3 of the coordinating regions. Through the convergence of the new rural cooperative medical service and medical assistance, the compensation level for serious and severe diseases has reached about 90%.

More than 50 diseases can cause family poverty. According to statistics, at present, China's urban workers' medical insurance, residents' medical insurance, and new rural cooperative medical insurance have covered 1.3 billion people and their coverage has reached more than 95%. The basic medicine system has been established in the government's primary health care institutions. All implemented. In order to solve this problem, China has implemented the policy of major illness and medical insurance. According to reports, in 2010, China launched a pilot project to improve the protection level of childhood leukemia and congenital heart disease. By the end of 2011, China has carried out trials for protection against major diseases in 93% of the co-ordinating regions. In some regions, six major diseases, including severe mental illness, tuberculosis, cervical cancer, breast cancer, end-stage renal disease (Uremia), and opportunistic AIDS infection, have been included in the coverage, and more than 200,000 patients have been compensated.

Urology and other 8 types of major medical insurance have been fully promoted. The Ministry of Health stated that this year, China will comprehensively push the medical care insurance for these 8 diseases. From a national point of view, some places are supported by the government’s finances. In some places, there are preferential treatment through medical institutions, and in some places through charitable foundations such as the Red Cross Foundation, and some social organizations and other forces cooperate together.

It is understood that through a series of measures, major structural changes have taken place in China's total health expenditure. The proportion of personal health expenditure decreased from 40.4% in 2008 to 35.5% in 2010. The structure of health financing tends to be reasonable, and health and equity have gradually improved. The excessively rapid increase in medical expenses in public hospitals has been effectively controlled. Based on comparable prices, the increase in the outpatient and hospitalization costs of public hospitals has dropped by an average of 3 to 4 percentage points annually.

The Ministry of Health stated that by 2015, the government subsidy standards for urban residents' medical insurance and the new rural cooperative government will be raised to more than RMB360 per person per year, and the proportion of hospitalization expenses within the scope of the three basic medical insurance policies for urban employees' medical insurance, resident medical insurance and new rural cooperative medical insurance will all reach. About 75% continue to reduce the residents' personal medical expenses.
