Imported diesel generators have quality problems

Affected by the shortage of electricity, the import volume of diesel generators increased significantly this year. Recently, companies in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Guangdong have reported that there are quality problems in the imported generators purchased. Many generators are based on old products. The AQSIQ has issued early warnings to all ports in the country. "Up to now, our province has imported a total of 281 generators, of which 40 are for old ones. There are 25 problems!" said the relevant person of the Jiangsu Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, of which 20 used generator sets are not marked as old. Some of them will be repainted and refurbished. Some will be assembled from used diesel engines and new generators. A foreign trade company reported that they had spent $30,000 to buy a generator that was extremely noisy and could not reach the rated power at all. When it generates electricity, it consumes more than 1,300 yuan of diesel every day, and it also needs regular maintenance. Upon inspection, this turned out to be a marine generator produced in 1963. These second-hand assembled power generating units cannot be operated after they are installed or are inefficient in operation and cannot meet production requirements. It takes half a year for a company to buy light generators for commissioning. At the time when electricity is used most, it does not work. In addition, a unit imported from a certain factory in Jiangyin caused a burst cylinder phenomenon, and the two units imported from Yixing all experienced poor rotor insulation. There are also certain problems in the safety performance of imported generators. The main reason is that a considerable part of the imported generator sets suffer from corrosion, line aging and unstable operation. Some even have a large difference from the actual use of the load, and companies have to pay for the addition of new generator sets. Wang Xin, Director of Inspection and Supervision Department of AQSIQ, said that AQSIQ has required all ports to conduct serious inspections on imported generator sets. Once there is any new behavior, it will be subject to economic sanctions in accordance with the commodity inspection law. Blacklist, stop importing when necessary.
